DOVF Interview: A Creative Chat with Jewelry Designer Aisa Marie Corrales

Models 1

Back in June of last year, I had attended The Set NYC – Fashion Night Out! event for the first time and really enjoyed capturing the “style from the aisles” as noted in this blog post. This past September I had the pleasure of attending again. This was one of the events that I was looking forward to the most, as it encompassed fashion, food, drinks and shopping. The Set NYC charity and fashion event also tends to showcase up and coming designers as well as other fashion creatives. This time I focused more on getting to know the designers that were showcasing there work on the outskirts of the runway. The first highlighted designer that caught my eye had models standing on a platform showcasing very exquisite and unique jewelry pieces, which truly looked like works of art!
As I approached the models to get a better look and to take a few pictures, I noticed that the designer seemed to be standing close by. I introduced myself and told her how amazing her collection of work was, as we chatted she seemed so humble and excited to be showing off her work. I had to stay in contact with her as I knew she would be up to great things and I wanted a front row seat to her journey. As usual with all my interviews, I thought it would be great to share with you the person behind this amazing work. Read on and get to know how broken jewelry made her who she is today, why Taylor Swift is her style crush and where in the world you will be able to shop Aisa Marie Corrales Designs soon!

SUM Company makes SUM (sun)glasses…

Wayfarers have been an iconic sunglass style for decades, with the most popular reference coming from the memorable pantless dance seen Tom Cruise did while wearing some in Risky Business.

To this day I remember the blue wayfarers that I lost while at a park picnic.. I accidently threw them away when i was finished eating. They were my favorite sunglasses of all time, I wished I could of found a new pair of the exact or similar style, but usually when you are shopping for something that is specific you can never find it. Even when I was younger I liked to find accessories that expressed my love for the color blue, while being unique and creative. This is where customized shopping trends come in handy. SUM Company can make SUM unique and creative sunglasses for you! Continue Reading

Eco-Fashion Eye (Wood) Wear

Eco-friendly apparel and accessories are nothing new, but there has been an increased shift in taping into making items more fashion forward at the same time. There are designer clothing labels taping into this concept which many hope to make a “style, instead of just a trend” within the industry. (sidenote: check out www.fashionmegreen.com)

The most recent eco-fashion trend accessories movement that I have been noticing, has been to create sustainable and eco-friendly eyewear.
