My fellow (Yves) Saint Laurent lovers, the brand has finally released their Fall 2013 Ad Campaign. The ad features Southern California twins, Wyatt and Fletcher Shears. They are behind the skater punk band “The Garden.” But most importantly, they are exclusive Saint Laurent models. They debuted on the Saint Laurent runway and now are the stars of the ad campaign.
Swimming. An activity characterized by many as being exhilarating, freeing, or just plain fun. Although summer vacation is almost over for many of us there still is plenty of time to enjoy the beach and heat across the globe.
Some of us take little notices as to what we wear to the pool/beach etc., especially us guys. But there is one thing I can say is that there are certain types of styles certain men gravitate towards. There is the short-short man, the Speedo wearing dude or the long board short traditional lad. I myself fall in between the short-short and board short range. But there isn’t anything wrong with wearing the Speedo if you body is right for it.
The Short-Short Man
Recently, Riccardo Tisci presented the men’s Givenchy S/S 2014 collection in Paris. There was something that stood out too me when the models started to walk the runway and many others saw it as well just as you probably have. Yes, the men are wearing leggings or “meggings” as some would call them. Continue Reading

Women’s fashion, has been written about, spoken and showcased since centuries. There are fashion weeks all over the globe dedicated to women’s fashion. But how many of us recollect talking about the men’s fashion. Faintly. It is definitely one of those areas of fashion that is slowly but steadily picking up. One of the biggest evidence of the growing popularity and fashion sense amongst men is the newly introduced full-fledged 3-day Men’s Fashion Week in London.
Men’s fashion week was prevalent in Milan and Paris, and finally this year Britain decided it was time to showcase the British men’s fashion full throttle. So far, London fashion week used to be a 3 day affair for the women’s fashion and the last day was crammed with men’s fashion; that left very little time and a tiny space for the men. A lot of British talent, when it came to men’s designers, were seen moving out of the country considering the tiny scope of growth. Hence, keeping the increasing awareness of fashion amongst men, and giving and an expanded time and space to the men’s designers. The 1st men’s London fashion week was announced to be taking place soon after the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and in time before the Olympics 2012.
The fashion week finally commenced on the 15th of June till the 17th of June and was launched by none other Continue Reading
Tinie Tempah is a British rapper, MC and CEO of Disturbing London Records. His first single “Pass Out”, debuted at number 1 on the UK singles chart In March 2010. I remember when I first heard this song, it was early 2010 and I was at a work event, the DJ introduced this song as ‘a song that was going to be big this year’ and boy was the DJ right! From that day and onwards everywhere I went I heard this song being played. Each and every time “Pass Out” was played in a bar everyone would go crazy! The infectious beat and the catchy, yet somewhat wacky lyrics, this song blew up in 2010 and made the world sit up and take note of the oh –so-stylish and very cute rapper Tinie Tempah (real name Patrick Junior C. Okogwu).
Since then, Tinie has gone on to release other successful hits such as “Written in the stars” and “Frisky” and he has Continue Reading
Our first Monday Music Feature for Black Music Month is the very unique and creative music mogul, writer/composer, producer, artist, and fashion entrepreneur – Pharrell Williams. In 1994, after being involved in the music industry since he was in his early 20s, Pharrell and his childhood friend, Chad Hugo established themselves as a production duo called “The Neptunes”; which was the same name as their “R&B type” group they had formed in high school. They went onto writing and producing tracks and songs for an eclectic range of artists throughout the late 90s.
In 2001, The Neptunes were getting recognized as the producers to work with for hit records. Later that same year they were working as a group and producing their own albums, and formed a hip-hop/rock/funk band N.E.R.D (No One Ever Really Dies) with friend Shay Haley, under Virgin Records label. In 2005, their band ended their contract Continue Reading
There have definitely been many artists from across the pond that have tried to break into the American music scene. The most recent UK group’s success has been one for the history books…
The Wanted is a “new to the U.S.” (started in UK in 2009), boyband that consists of 5 regular gents from across the UK and Ireland. The group was formed by Jayne Collins, who conducted mass auditions across the UK. It was obvious these guys were all very talented individually, so combining that talent to create amazing harmonizing sounds, was genius!
They released their Self-titled debut album in July 2010 with the hit single “All Time Low” which quickly shot to #1 on the UK music charts. In 2011 they were nominated for Best British Single at the BRITS awards. In November 2011 of the same year, they released their second album “Battleground”, with another hit single titled “Warzone”. They have had huge success with all of their singles from both of these albums, reaching the Top 5 on the UK music charts. With their fast success in the UK, they decided to conquer America next. So, this past January they made their American TV debut performing their second number one UK single, (now their first #1U.S. single) “Glad You Came” on the Ellen Show! Then in February they announced and launched their U.S. Tour.
Most recently the lads have made music history by becoming the highest charting UK boyband on the US Billboard Charts, and for going platinum for 1 million sales of their debut single “Glad You Came”. It has only been a little over two months and these guys have truly morphed into their name, already becoming the most sought after group of Continue Reading
