Staying trendy and fashionable during Christmas holidays is not something reserved for celebrities only. If you stay true to your style and add just a bit of festive touch to the overall look, you too can look gorgeous without losing any of that jolly spirit. Of course, you don’t have to buy expensive designer clothes if you’re on a budget. In general, all you need to know is how to combine your staples with festivity of this holiday. And with such a colorful market, this is definitely not that hard to do.
If you’re going to a Christmas party or festive dinner, you can’t go wrong with a flattering dress. There are many choices in the market, but it’s important to get the cut and style that suits your personality and body shape the best. Once you’re positive in your ability to shop for your unique self, you can undoubtedly make things more festive. If it’s a party where will be a lot of fun and dancing, try out sequin dresses in silver and gold. If it’s a bit more formal, you can try out elegant cuts in forest green or bright red. Even if you decide to go with neutrals such as black or white, you can spice things up in a festive manner with adequate jewelry and accessories. Continue Reading →
When you think about Paris, before you think of the Eiffel tower, you think of Coco Chanel – if you don’t then you have to work up on your fashion mojo. Though style and fashion are not really synonyms, they pretty much depend on one another. Knowing that fashion is a big industry with great influence, we all know that there are centers of that influence – fashion capitals. There are five most important ones: Paris, Milan, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Tokyo. These cities master and lead the fashion world globally. Why these cities are known as the fashion capitals of the world?
We can all dream about owning pieces that were made for runways by prominent fashion designers and wearing couture to work, but is it possible for our dreams to become true? Sadly, it is not very likely it will ever happen because pieces like those are rather expensive and (admit it) not always comfortable. We want clothes that look good on us, are of highest quality, and yet allow us to move freely and be comfortable.
Are those things dreams as well? Not anymore, with sportswear emerging as a new fashion trend.
If girls and women from nineteenth and twentieth century could catch a glimpse of modern women and today’s fashion trends, they would have been shocked. With fashion designers becoming more bold and innovative every season, it was a matter of time when they would decide that ‘keeping things hidden’ (and by ‘things’ we mean underwear) was too boring a trend and that it lacked a fresh perspective. As a result, women all over the world are wearing their underwear as a statement piece of clothing and are not ashamed of showing it off.
Staying chic and stylish on a daily basis can be very demanding, however, you have to be aware that owning expensive pieces in order to look expensive is not obligatory. Instead, try working with the pieces you already have in your closet, and invest more money in some high-quality basics and statement pieces of jewellery. Of course, taking care of your clothes is crucial if you want to wear them as long as possible.

Here are some useful tricks on how to accomplish that, so check them out.
Style knows no age, and these 50+ people are soul proof of it! Most of the style icons (we sure as hell will refer to them as style icons as they look better than most of us do) we’ve chosen are just regular people minding their business on the streets of their towns and cities, absolutely unaware that they are re-defining the fashion world as we speak.
Except for their impeccable sense of style and cut-and-color composition, the reason we are so fascinated with these individuals is that, unlike most of us today who have adopted styles forced by various fashion bloggers on the internet, these guys probably have no “internet fashion education” under their belt but rely on their inner drive to match and combine pieces, and in result – look absolutely fabulous!
Here are some of our favorite 50+ fashionistas, hope you’ll enjoy their styles as much as we did:
Male bun charm
We are so sorry to hear you aren’t looking as amazing as the mister portrayed in the picture above; after all, not everyone can pull off a yellow ascot, awesome sunnies and an impressive male bun while shopping for vintage oil cans at their flea market. Brava!
This forever classic and fabulous rascal-schoolboy look is only improved by those non-dress code, sherbet-colored pants. We may argue this guy is going through some High school nostalgia ending in him superbly channeling his old uniform… or, he just loves the style and rocks it amazingly! Whichever the case, it’s working for us!
Chic looks good coupled up
Don’t you just love it when you see a fashionable couple casually walking down the street, looking all stylish and what not. What’s particularly amazing about these two is that this guy’s laid-back panache lets his lady shine. The way these two complement each other is so inspiring, don’t you think?
I am God of fashion
This gentlemen that was recently photographed in Berlin near the Kotbusser Tor station wearing his iTailor outfit is what we consider having impeccable style and a fantastic sense of fashion. The gentleman is called Günther Krabbenhöft and is incorrectly reported to be 104 years old. Mr Günther says on his FB profile that the Internet has “doubled” his age.
“I find that I dress pretty normal. I’ve always dressed like this. When I went to work, when I go to exercise. I want to look at myself with joy. It’s also always a reflection of my inner self.” Well, keep it up, it’s amazing!
Call me Lynn
This gorgeous woman is everything! Her style is impeccable, well put together and, in a word, breathtaking! All of the outfits featured in the photos ooze old Hollywood charm – the outfits are almost Elizabeth Tayloresque, but with an evident sense of individuality in them. We will forever remember her as our style crush. Rest in peace, Lynn Dell Cohen.
I am Tziporah Salamon
Colorful, edgy, awe-inspiring and definitely unusual, Ms Salamon knows good clothes and isn’t afraid to flaunt them. A major label, Lanvin, featured this stunning 62-year-old in their Fall 2012 Campaign! When asked how she felt about it, she said she never could’ve guessed something like this could happen for her: “” I am totally honored, jazzed, and thrilled. I am so grateful for this opportunity. In my early 20s I would have never realized that I could do something like this. It wasn’t until I was in my 40s that I began to see my beauty. By then I felt that there weren’t many opportunities for older models. How ironic is it that i am having my big break as a model in my 60s? This is a great day!”
If this is what the old(er) age looks like, we are on board! This lovely lady’s name almost sounds like a fashion brand, don’t you think? In fact, she is a well known personal stylist and if we had the opportunity – we’d definitely be the first in line to get styled by her!
The terms Fashion and Stylealways seem to be used interchangeably by people, when in fact they have two completely different meanings! Separating the two is quite easy when you have someone break it down for you, and that is what I’m here to do.
Now according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary Fashion is a popular way of dressing during a particular time or among a particular group of people: the business of creating and selling clothes in new styles. Fashion is ever changing and usually what is considered to be “in” is what designers, fashion houses, and models make contemporary at the moment. Style on the other hand is a particular way in which something is done, created, or performed also taken from the Merriam-Webster dictionary. With Fashion being ever changing, something that may be “in” one day can easily be considered “out” of fashion the next. Styleis what makes a person’s fashion choices stand out. It is what a person chooses to add his/her own unique twist.
As I’m sure everyone knows in this day and age negative body outlooks are unfortunately a big part of today’s society. Everywhere you look in the media you see articles ranging from: how to obtain the “perfect” body to crazy fad diets that absolutely no one can possibly stick to for any length of time. So of course, it only seems natural that the majority of people are finding it hard to keep up with this day and age’s ideal body type. I myself struggled with anorexia for six years of my life and still to this day occasionally falter and succumb to wanting that Victoria’s Secret model body, however recently I’ve come across a new movement that is way more positive than “thinspiration” and that my friends is the movement of “Body Posi“.
Assuming you have been on Twitter within the past year, I’m going to guess that you have probably heard of the “BodyPosi” hashtag. But in case you haven’t let me give you the run down:
The last weekend of the summer is always full of activities, which also means it’s full of wardrobe changes and figuring out what to wear to each event. You could possibly have several things you go to in one day or something each day of the weekend. In this post I styled looks for both women and men for the most popular Labor Day weekend events – Brunch, Beach and BBQ.
Brunch– A denim crop top, a striped full skirt, brown wedge sandals and a cute Palm tree tote will have you feeling like you are brunching in style with little effort. Continue Reading →
I remember my freshman year of college like it was yesterday. There were some amazing things about being away from home for the first time in my life, and there were some not so great things as well. One of the not so great things was gaining the “fashion fifteen” (along with another 15), Lol! I did however enjoy the fab things that I could buy to decorate my dorm and cute yet comfy outfits I wore.
Are you a freshman in college this semester? Wouldn’t it be great to only gain style not pounds this semester? With these essential, yet fashionable school items you will be fashionably in shape for your freshman year of college.
