Life Lessons You Can Learn From Yoga Practice

By Chloe

I came into the business world pretty early; apart from a few part time jobs in high school, before I knew it – I was at Uni, juggling three or four jobs and feeling absolutely exhausted. And, in all honesty, I don’t even remember if I am a workaholic or I am just so used to slaving that I wouldn’t know any different. Whichever the case, when you put your body and mind under such immense pressure, it is evident you’re going to crack eventually. Our being isn’t designed to have that much physical stress nor is it intended to process as much mental pressure as we manage to on daily basis.

Sweet ’16

sweet 16By Bre Ausby
“At 16, set your goals, turn your dreams into reality, you have your whole life ahead of you.” -Unknown

Here we are, in the second month of the year 2016, meaning you either stayed in the race with your goals or you completely gave up because something did not go exactly as planned. Much like the year you turned 16 years old, this year marks the beginning of the rest of your life. This year you’ve more than likely set goals for the amount of weight you want to lose, you’ve determine what foods you won’t eat, and you’ve told yourself that you’re leaving everything that wasn’t good for you last year behind. Granted we do this every year on January 1st and every year on our birthdays; however, by day 3 we have failed completely.

10 Delicious Recipes That Are Actually Good For You

By Bree Fesh

Since it is still early in this great new year of 2016, I’m sure if you are anything like me you’re still trying to hold true to your resolutions. Like many of us, one of my resolutions was to get my diet back on track and eat healthier. However, I’m sure as most of you know this isn’t always such an easy feat to accomplish between dining out, working late and not wanting to go home and cook, and of course not wanting to be the only sad person eating a salad, eating healthy is tough. That’s why in this article I decided to share some of my favorite recipes from around the web that are healthy, delicious, low calorie, and easy to make! Continue Reading

50+ Style Icons We Found on Web

Style knows no age, and these 50+ people are soul proof of it! Most of the style icons (we sure as hell will refer to them as style icons as they look better than most of us do) we’ve chosen are just regular people minding their business on the streets of their towns and cities, absolutely unaware that they are re-defining the fashion world as we speak.
Except for their impeccable sense of style and cut-and-color composition, the reason we are so fascinated with these individuals is that, unlike most of us today who have adopted styles forced by various fashion bloggers on the internet, these guys probably have no “internet fashion education” under their belt but rely on their inner drive to match and combine pieces, and in result – look absolutely fabulous!
Here are some of our favorite 50+ fashionistas, hope you’ll enjoy their styles as much as we did:

Male bun charm

We are so sorry to hear you aren’t looking as amazing as the mister portrayed in the picture above; after all, not everyone can pull off a yellow ascot, awesome sunnies and an impressive male bun while shopping for vintage oil cans at their flea market. Brava!

Schoolboy vibes

This forever classic and fabulous rascal-schoolboy look is only improved by those non-dress code, sherbet-colored pants. We may argue this guy is going through some High school nostalgia ending in him superbly channeling his old uniform… or, he just loves the style and rocks it amazingly! Whichever the case, it’s working for us!

Chic looks good coupled up

Don’t you just love it when you see a fashionable couple casually walking down the street, looking all stylish and what not. What’s particularly amazing about these two is that this guy’s laid-back panache lets his lady shine. The way these two complement each other is so inspiring, don’t you think?

I am God of fashion

This gentlemen that was recently photographed in Berlin near the Kotbusser Tor station wearing his iTailor outfit is what we consider having impeccable style and a fantastic sense of fashion. The gentleman is called Günther Krabbenhöft and is incorrectly reported to be 104 years old. Mr Günther says on his FB profile that the Internet has “doubled” his age.
“I find that I dress pretty normal. I’ve always dressed like this. When I went to work, when I go to exercise. I want to look at myself with joy. It’s also always a reflection of my inner self.” Well, keep it up, it’s amazing!

Call me Lynn

This gorgeous woman is everything! Her style is impeccable, well put together and, in a word, breathtaking! All of the outfits featured in the photos ooze old Hollywood charm – the outfits are almost Elizabeth Tayloresque, but with an evident sense of individuality in them. We will  forever remember her as our style crush. Rest in peace, Lynn Dell Cohen.

I am Tziporah Salamon

Colorful, edgy, awe-inspiring and definitely unusual, Ms Salamon knows good clothes and isn’t afraid to flaunt them. A major label, Lanvin, featured this stunning 62-year-old in their Fall 2012 Campaign! When asked how she felt about it, she said she never could’ve guessed something like this could happen for her: “” I am totally honored, jazzed, and thrilled. I am so grateful for this opportunity. In my early 20s I would have never realized that I could do something like this. It wasn’t until I was in my 40s that I began to see my beauty. By then I felt that there weren’t many opportunities for older models.  How ironic is it that i am having my big break as a model in my 60s? This is a great day!”
If this is what the old(er) age looks like, we are on board! This lovely lady’s name almost sounds like a fashion brand, don’t you think? In fact, she is a well known personal stylist and if we had the opportunity – we’d definitely be the first in line to get styled by her!

Follow Your Passion – It’s Not Just College, It’s Your Career.

Follow your passion 1
As a child I was encouraged to find what I was passionate about and to work towards that. At first it was helping people; whether the person was hurt physically or I was needed as a listening ear I was there. As I grew and matured I learned that writing was my escape, something that I had to do to maintain a level of sanity during the day. When applying to college I did what everyone said was the best, which was to apply to a major in the STEM programs I that when I graduated money wouldn’t be an issue. The STEM majors are science, technology, engineering and math, which happen to pull in the most income into a household. The issue for me was not the money but my will to stay focused on something I honestly had no interest in.

Unforeseen Tragedy

Tragedy happens every second of every day, but how close does it have to hit before we not only respond accordingly but start working on preventing such things from happening?
As many may know – yet most will not – we have been observing World Suicide Prevention Week.

Why I’m Loving #BodyPosi

As I’m sure everyone knows in this day and age negative body outlooks are unfortunately a big part of today’s society. Everywhere you look in the media you see articles ranging from: how to obtain the “perfect” body to crazy fad diets that absolutely no one can possibly stick to for any length of time. So of course, it only seems natural that the majority of people are finding it hard to keep up with this day and age’s ideal body type. I myself struggled with anorexia for six years of my life and still to this day occasionally falter and succumb to wanting that Victoria’s Secret model body, however recently I’ve come across a new movement that is way more positive than “thinspiration” and that my friends is the movement of “Body Posi“.

Assuming you have been on Twitter within the past year, I’m going to guess that you have probably heard of the “BodyPosi” hashtag. But in case you haven’t let me give you the run down:

The Escape: Lost In A Book

Books“So this is what insanity is. Not goofy behavior, but watching a sudden change in the world you used to know.”
Toni MorrisonGod Help the Child
That is a quote from one of my favorite books. Have you ever found yourself reading a book or novel and not only does it speak to what you might be feeling at the time, but also allow you to escape from your current reality?

#OOTD: Kicking It Up in Calia

While working at Dick’s sporting goods recently I had the opportunity to work with their merchandising team on a brand new active wear line by singer Carrie Underwood called Calia. I have to admit that after three days of working alongside the other merchandisers on this project; I totally found a reason to buy some new clothes for the gym!
Bree1
So what is Calia exactly? Calia, as I stated earlier, is a new line of exercise wear by Carrie Underwood. However what makes is unique is the fact that it is specifically designed not only as exercise wear, but also for women on the go. These clothes are things you can definitely wear everyday while out shopping, running errands, or just having lunch with friends, without looking like a gym rat. I feel this is the reason I was so drawn to the Calia line myself, because they’re not so much exercise clothes but they are lifestyle clothes. And with how crazy my life can be I was thrilled to find an exercise line that I could wear all day while running errands, doing photo shoots (yes these clothes are actually appropriate for my job! Awesome, right?) and having casual lunch meetings with clients. I have to say it was great not to have to change once I got to Planet Fitness. Another great thing I have to point out about this line is that it is incredibly comfortable as well as incredibly well made and true to size (something I feel is hard to gauge in active wear nowadays).
What I Got:
