It’s going to be a (bright) yellow summer
Aside from a few sporadic days, teasing us with a taste of what summer might become, the sun has yet to put in a noteworthy appearance. Nevertheless, fashion’s finest delivered a variety of very worthy summer collections, with clashing patterns and bold colours taking precedence. One particular colour that strikes a note for this spring/summer is (bright) yellow.
Sickly neon, bitter-sweet lemon, subtle mustard and bold dandelion are all note-worthy shades. Though be warned if, like me, your skin is suffering the trauma of a frost-bitten winter, try wearing yellow accessories as an accent colour. A fluro yellow clutch and stilettos will add interest to a monochrome dress, plus it is an easy way to work two trends in one outfit.

My Nail Files – Week 5: All That Jazz
It’s a new week and you know what that meansss… I’m sharing a new DIY manicure for “My Nail Files Challenge”. I hope you enjoyed my “Feeling the Blues” look last week. I went to see The Great Gatsby this past weekend, and I’m so happy that it met my expectations of being “great”. From the story, to the music to the fashion, the experience was a true sensory exercise. So, with that said I’m sure you can guess what this week’s manicure was inspired by…yep, The Great Gatsby.. and all that jazz

As you now know this movie is now in theaters nationwide as of Friday, May 10th. I was originally going to write a post about The Great Gatsby before it came out, but decided I could speak to it better once I had actually seen it.

Jenna Lyons, the Executive Creative Director and President of the brand J. Crew has gained a lot of press lately. My “Punk: Chaos to Couture” Red Carpet Review
Even though the event is truly about the exhibition and the fundraising efforts for the institute, the red carpet is the kickoff (and extra highlight) of the exhibition. I’m quite sure that by now you have seen the thousands of images online and read the reviews for this year’s Met Gala red carpet arrivals, as most blogs put up their posts the next morning or that night. However, I’m late to the party as usual, because I like to do my research and make sure I comb through as many images as possible and include background info. So finally, here it is…
