The Return of Saint Laurent

My fellow (Yves) Saint Laurent lovers, the brand has finally released their Fall 2013 Ad Campaign. The ad features Southern California twins, Wyatt and Fletcher Shears. They are behind the skater punk band “The Garden.” But most importantly, they are exclusive Saint Laurent models. They debuted on the Saint Laurent runway and now are the stars of the ad campaign.

Wyatt who is to the left opened the Fall 2013 show while his brother Fletcher (right) closed the show. The images capture an essence of Hedi Slimane, the creative director of Saint Laurent creativity and no care attitude. He had no problem changing the company name to Saint Laurent Paris dropping Yves to make the brand “appeal to a more youthful audience.” These images make me even more excited to see what is to come for the brand. Hedi’s Fall 2013 collection was his first official menswear collection and it was a bombshell collection because the Saint Laurent man matched perfectly with the Saint Laurent woman. The still fresh creative director still has some work to do to make the brand appeal to a more youthful audience, but I feel he is going in the right direction although some may disagree.
