Nike x Liberty Summer 2012

I think with the increasing trends in Hi-Top sneaker design and popularity, everyone in the industry is trying to get involved in the action. We’ve seen wedges, funky prints, metallic fabrications, studded and versions with holes, but for some reason I think this collaboration is such a fresh and new approach.. and I LOVE it!
Heritage and style collide in the latest Nike Sportswear summer footwear collection with Liberty. One of Nike’s most coveted collaborations, it will celebrate the legacy and evolution of the brand’s running innovations over four remarkable decades of style. Styles include the classic Blazer, Hyperclave and Dunk Sky Hi high top trainers.

You may not be familiar with the company Liberty London, but I can assure you that you have either seen or have something with an iconic “Liberty Print“.  Over 100 years of business, Liberty London has produced many prints used in fashion and other industries during the Art Nouveau era. Created by many talented designers, these prints tend to be very dense, fashionable and eclectic. The more recognized Liberty prints usually contain small florals and paisleys in monochromatic color schemes. Mostly seen on dresses, skirts and many home furnishings, their newest venture is somewhat unexpected.

Red Liberty Print Dunk Sky Hi Tops - Nike & Liberty combine to present the Nike Dunk Sky Hi Sport high top remixed with Lagos Laurel Liberty Print, a 21st century take on the traditional psychedelic paisley prints that form a part of Liberty’s rich heritage. The 1980s classic has been redesigned and fitted with a concealed wedge platform, adding a fashion forward twist to this comfortably fitting, iconic style.

Imperial Purple Liberty Print Hyperclave Hi Tops- This updated style features a drop-back top, white laces, signature Nike logo on the side, white soles and tan brown logo embossed label on the tongue.

Yellow Liberty Print Blazer Hi Tops- The Nike Blazer expresses casual cool like nothing else. With its origins dating back to the 1970s, the Blazer is still going strong in the 21st century.

This particular collaboration between Nike X Liberty is not only with the shoes, there is an entire capsule collection that includes apparel as well.
