Summertime! Lets hit the beach! I am an absolute all…out…beach…bum. The sun, the sand and the seas, is my idea of pure bliss. I eagerly await for this time of the year, when there is eternal sunshine, a state of peace, and serene waves that calm your heart rate down. The “beachwear season” also happens to be one of my favorite times of the year to play dress up. It is so easy going, relaxing and full of great colors, it makes my eyes gleam! Bikinis, sarongs, maxis, hats, sunglasses, flip-flops and suntan lotion are few of the most important things on my list when packing for a beach trip.
Shopping for a new season also means keeping the current trends in mind. Its never necessary to completely follow the trends, but mix and match, make sure it flatters you body, skin and complexion and you might just end up creating a new trend of your own.

Prints are big this season, as even seen on the dresses front. No better time to flaunt floral bikinis, maxis and summer dresses. Animal prints almost never go out of fashion; there is no harm in recycling ones from last year either. But the print that has captured my attention is the digital print. It looks fresh and new and I have a feeling is going to last at least a couple of seasons.

Vintage has taken over the fashion industry in a massive manner this year. Anything vintage, with a modern twist I promise is going to be a head turner. Monokinis, with a modern touch is the way to go.

Ever worn a bikini in shiny satin like fabric? Well now is the time, and the color to keep in mind is pink! Other eclectic colors to keep in mind are browns, grays and khakis.

Going to the beach is never complete without funky summer hats, and sunglasses. Cat eye, round rimmed and colored frames are trending largely for women’s sunglasses. Make sure you update yours.

Lastly, don’t forget a jazzy pair of flip-flops, bright colored beach towels and dollops of suntan lotion. Lie down on the beach, relax with that watermelon mojito, let go of the worldly woes and consume the tranquility of the ocean waves!
