March of the Italian Fishermen
The second part of Spring/Summer 2012- Men’s Fashion Week, came to a close in Paris last Sunday. Shows began in Milan June 18-22nd and went onto Paris June 23-26th. Of all the shows I was brought a breath of fresh air with Dolce & Gabbana’s looks in Milan on June 18th! It has been dubbed the “Italian Fishermen”, and it was inspired by the use of textiles such as mesh and openwork knits. My favorite pieces included 2 tailored blazers, one traditional and the other safari style, both with the openwork overlay… I love it! There was no short of a “mesh twist” to the various mesh boxers, sheer pants, mesh sleeves to tailored blazers, and the updated “painters jumper/romper”. Below is the runway show and then my favorite style picks from the collection!
